Doodlespace is a new company set up to design and manufacture wooden garden buildings that increase the flexibility of personal living and working.

Doodlespace has been conceived by two highly respected furniture designers, John Callen and Ashley Cartwright. Their fine craftsmanship and love of wood inspire and distinguish this unique building range.

Timber is central to their philosophy and the new garden architecture underlines this.

Both have a vast knowledge of designing in timber for individuals and corporations. Furniture commissions have included Oxford University, the British Embassy in Moscow, the National Trust and many private clients who have enjoyed the process of design development.

The well insulated wooden garden buildings, made from green oak timber, have an excellent specification providing a quality interior space. Integrated lighting and underfloor heating, hardwood floors and power points come as standard with all aspects being carefully considered with environmental awareness in mind.

John and Ashley will create not only your Doodlespace but they are able to design and make individual furniture including seats, storage and fencing to enhance your building.

Recent garden rooms have been used as a writers retreat, a tennis pavilion and as a guest room. The emphasis of the building lies in its inviting aesthetic that uses green oak in a subtle and sympathetic manner. The outcome looks wonderful in contemporary or traditional settings.

Generally our wooden garden buildings will not require planning permission unless you are in a conservation area. We are able to assist with planning applications where necessary.
